WORK SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT

At Constructora Icon S.A. we ensure work safety starting at the planning stage of the project, which enables us to identify, prevent and reduce the accidents during the execution of the project, and this in turn translates into a better work environment, an image improvement, an increase in productivity and a better competitiveness of the company in the industry; besides looking after the occupational health of our workers as one of our most valuable resources.

Our philosophy regarding work safety is the following:

• All of our personnel must follow the company guidelines regarding safety.
• Safety benefits all of us.
• The use of helmets, reflective vests and closed shoes for all activities within the construction site is mandatory.
• The use of the hazard identification matrix, the operational control matrix and the safety protection equipment use matrix shall be implemented for each activity of the project starting at the planning stage.
• Implementation of the sign for the use of basic safety equipment for the entry of personnel to the construction site.
• Order and cleanliness of the work area.
• Demand from our subcontractors the work safety measures established by Constructora Icon S.A.
• Control of the work safety at the site by part of the resident engineer; foreman and person in charge of the material storage.
• Record of non compliance with the safety measures of the company and accident record in our construction projects.

Through the record of non compliances with the safety measures of the company and the accident record in our construction projects; we have accurate construction accident rates which enable us to have a guide regarding the corrective measures to be implemented in the company.

We are aware that as a construction company we form part of one of the leading industries in world contamination. For this reason, we try to reduce our residues and manage them adequately in order to have environmentally friendly projects. We divide the residues (steel, wood, debris, hazardous substances) and we dispose of them accordingly.

We try to reduce the impact of the project on its surroundings during the constructive stage, we also follow the recommendations and observations stated in the documents approved by SETENA and pertaining institutions for each of our projects.
